Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility differs substantially from one post to another. Candidates must satisfy the age, qualification and experience requirements as on 31 July 2026.

For Deputy Manager posts in AI, IT Security and Cyber Security, applicants generally need a relevant B.E., B.Tech, MCA, M.Tech or M.Sc qualification in disciplines such as Computer Science, IT, Data Science, AI, Software Engineering or Electronics, along with relevant experience. For AI Specialist positions, SBI requires four years of post-qualification IT experience, including two years in relevant AI, machine learning, deep learning, GenAI, RAG pipelines or similar areas.

The two Manager (HR) posts require an MBA, PGDM, PGDBM or equivalent qualification with HR, HRD or HRM specialisation from a recognised institution. Applicants need at least six years of post-basic-qualification experience in HR or training, preferably in the IT industry or an IT vertical within the BFSI sector. The age limit for these Manager posts is 28 to 40 years.

For senior contractual posts such as Deputy CTO and Vice President, SBI seeks highly experienced technology professionals. TOGAF certification is compulsory for Enterprise Architecture positions, alongside extensive IT, architecture and senior-executive-level experience.

The broad age limits for the different categories of posts are listed below.

Selection Process and Salary

SBI SCO selection will be based on shortlisting followed by an interview. The interview carries 100 marks, and SBI will prepare the final merit list based on interview performance. Merely meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an interview call, as the Bank will decide shortlisting parameters based on the number and quality of applications received.

For contractual positions, candidates may also need to attend CTC negotiation after being placed in the merit order. Regular Deputy Manager and Manager positions carry applicable SBI officer pay scales, allowances and service benefits, while contractual roles offer negotiated annual CTC depending on experience and profile.

For example, the Manager (Manpower Planning & Recruitment) and Manager (Learning & Development) roles are in MMGS-III, with a pay scale of ₹85,920–₹1,05,280, plus applicable DA, HRA, CCA, provident fund, NPS, medical facility and other benefits. These positions carry a 12-month probation period.
