Candidates awaiting their final qualifying-exam result should not apply unless they possess the required qualification by the notification’s stipulated closing date.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

RRB JE selection involves four stages:

  1. CBT 1.
  2. CBT 2.
  3. Document Verification.
  4. Medical Examination.

CBT 1 is primarily a screening test with 100 questions to be completed in 90 minutes. It includes Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science. CBT 2 contains 150 questions and includes technical ability questions related to the candidate’s selected engineering exam group. A deduction of one-third mark applies for every incorrect answer in both CBT stages.

The normalized CBT 1 score is used to shortlist candidates for CBT 2. Final shortlisting for document verification is based on CBT 2 merit, vacancy availability and the candidate’s eligible post preferences.
