Eligibility and Age Limit

The required qualification differs by discipline. Candidates must ensure that their degree, diploma, ITI, or NAC trade precisely matches the post for which they intend to apply.

  • Foreman (Chemical): Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, or Petrochemical Technology with at least 55% marks.
  • Foreman (Civil): Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least 55% marks.
  • Foreman (Instrumentation): Diploma in Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical & Electronics, with at least 55% marks.
  • Junior Superintendent (HR): Bachelor’s Degree plus Diploma in Personnel Management or Industrial Relations, with at least 50% marks in each qualification. Applicants must also be proficient in computer operations.
  • Operator (Chemical): B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, or B.Sc. Honours in Chemistry, with at least 50% marks.
  • Technician (Electrical): Matriculation plus ITI/NAC in Electrical or Wireman trade.
  • Technician (Instrumentation): Matriculation plus ITI/NAC in Instrumentation trade.
  • Technician (Mechanical): Matriculation plus ITI/NAC in Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Machinist, or Turner trade.
  • Accounts Assistant Trainee: B.Com. with at least 50% marks, English typing speed of 40 words per minute on computer, and computer proficiency.

For unreserved candidates, the upper-age limit is 32 years for S-5 posts such as Foreman and Junior Superintendent, and 30 years for S-3 Operator, Technician, and Trainee posts. Age relaxation for eligible reserved categories applies under Government of India rules.

The notification also requires relevant post-qualification experience for regular positions. Reported requirements include two years of experience for Foreman and Technician posts, and one year for Operator (Chemical). PwBD trainee posts do not require experience and carry one year of training.

Salary, Selection and Application Process

Selected candidates for S-5 positions—Foreman and Junior Superintendent—will receive the pay scale of ₹28,500–₹86,570. Regular S-3 Operator and Technician posts carry a pay scale of ₹25,000–₹81,430. Trainees will receive a stipend of ₹21,000 per month during training. In addition to basic pay, selected regular employees may receive benefits such as Industrial Dearness Allowance, perquisites, HRA, medical facilities, pension-related benefits, and North-East allowance where applicable under company rules.

BCPL may conduct a Written Test, Skill Test, Proficiency Test, Endurance Test, or multiple stages depending on the number of eligible applications and the company’s administrative requirements. Meeting the minimum eligibility conditions does not automatically guarantee shortlisting. Candidates must also satisfy BCPL’s medical fitness standards.
