Candidates can apply for only one post; where more than one application is submitted, BOI will retain only the latest completed application and the fee for other registrations will not be refunded.

Educational Qualifications

The eligibility conditions differ significantly by role:

  • IT, data, digital-platform and technology roles generally require a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, IT or Electronics and Communication, or an MCA/M.Sc. in Computer Science/IT, along with relevant professional experience. Several higher-scale posts also require specific certifications.
  • Law Officer applicants need a graduate degree in Law from a recognised university.

  • Security Officer candidates need graduation and the required computer qualification or relevant IT subject at graduation level.
  • Civil Engineer applicants need a B.E./B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university or institution with at least 60% marks. Reserved-category candidates applying for reserved posts receive a 5% relaxation where 60% is specified.

Work experience is essential for many positions. Candidates should not rely only on having the degree; they must read Annexure I of the official notification for post-specific experience, certification and skill requirements before applying.

Age Relaxation

BOI provides upper-age relaxation as follows:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
