IOB LBO Vacancy 2026 Details
Indian Overseas Bank has announced vacancies across four states. Applicants can apply for only one state and should have reading, writing and speaking proficiency in that state’s prescribed local language.

Of the 250 vacancies, 36 are reserved for SC candidates, 18 for ST, 80 for OBC, 22 for EWS and 94 for UR/General category candidates. The bank has noted that the vacancy count is provisional and may change according to its requirements.
A key point for candidates is that selected Local Bank Officers will remain posted in their chosen state for the first 12 years of service or until promotion to SMGS-IV grade, whichever is earlier. Therefore, applicants should select the state only after considering their local-language proficiency and willingness to work there long term.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for IOB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026, candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. Applicants must possess a valid marksheet or degree certificate on the date of online registration.
The age limit is 20 to 30 years, calculated as on 1 August 2026. In other words, applicants should have been born not earlier than 2 August 1996 and not later than 1 August 2006, with both dates included.
Age relaxation is available as per Government of India rules:

- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 years

IOB LBO Selection Process
The Indian Overseas Bank LBO selection process includes an online examination, Local Language Proficiency Test where applicable, and personal interview. Candidates who clear the online examination will proceed to the next stages based on IOB’s requirements and eligibility verification.
The online examination will carry 200 marks and consist of 140 objective-type questions over a duration of three hours.
