Bank of Baroda has issued the Local Bank Officer (LBO) Recruitment 2026 notification for 2,482 regular vacancies in Junior Management Grade/Scale-I (JMG/S-I). Eligible graduates who have at least one year of officer-level experience in a Scheduled Commercial Bank can submit their online applications from 18 August 2026 to 7 September 2026.

The recruitment includes 1,300 fresh vacancies and 1,182 unfilled vacancies from previous LBO recruitment exercises. The highest number of openings is in Gujarat with 1,185 posts, followed by Karnataka with 418 posts and Maharashtra with 218 posts.

The category-wise breakup is 981 General/UR posts, 600 OBC posts, 358 SC posts, 303 EWS posts and 240 ST posts. The notification also provides PwBD reservations within the overall vacancy distribution.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should verify every condition before applying because selection and document verification are provisional at the application stage. Any mismatch in qualifications, experience, age, category or local-language eligibility can lead to cancellation of candidature.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution. The qualification must be recognised by the Government of India, AICTE or another relevant government regulatory authority.
Age Limit
Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years as on 1 August 2026. The upper-age relaxations include:
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- OBC candidates under the Non-Creamy Layer: 3 years
- PwBD candidates: 10 years for General/EWS, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST
- Eligible ex-servicemen and certain commissioned officers: relaxation as specified in the detailed notification.
Required Experience
A candidate must have completed at least one year of post-qualification experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India. Clerical-cadre experience will not be considered for eligibility. Candidates need to produce an experience certificate and job-profile details from their current or previous employer.
Local Language Requirement
The LBO role is state-specific. Therefore, candidates must be proficient in the local language of the state selected, including reading, writing, speaking and understanding it. For Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the prescribed language is Telugu.
Candidates may apply for only one state. Submitting multiple applications can result in only the latest valid application being retained, while fees paid for other applications may be forfeited.
Salary, Posting and Bond
Selected candidates will be appointed in JMG/S-I with a basic pay scale of: ₹48,480 – 2,000(7) – ₹62,480 – 2,340(2) – ₹67,160 – 2,680(7) – ₹85,920
Candidates selected with one year or more of officer-level experience in a Scheduled Commercial Bank will receive one advance increment. In addition to basic pay, employees will receive eligible allowances, benefits and perquisites under Bank of Baroda and banking-industry rules.
The selected LBOs will generally be posted within the state for which they apply for the first 12 years of service, or until promotion to SMGS-IV grade, whichever comes first. After that, the bank may post employees anywhere in India as per its requirements.
The probation period is one year. Selected candidates must also execute a service bond requiring them to serve for at least three years. Leaving before completion of the bond period may require payment equal to three months’ gross salary, subject to a maximum of ₹2 lakh under the current policy.

English Language is qualifying in nature and its marks will not be counted for the final merit list. There is a penalty of 0.25 mark for every incorrect answer, while unattempted questions carry no penalty. The exam date will be announced separately by Bank of Baroda.
